Veronica Mars - Kristen Bell
She is the main character in the series. In the first season Veronica was a 17 years old junior at Neptune High. She lives is Neptune, California with her parents : her mother Lianne and her father Keith. She is quite witty for her age, but she is also cynical.
After her best friend Lilly Kane died she changed a lot. She lost all her "friends" after she took her father's side after her father accused Jake Kane(Lilly's father ) of Lilly's murder. She was all alone until one day she met Wallace Flannel.
She works with her father Keith (former sheriff) at Mars Investigation.
A year ago she used to be one of the popular an now she s just a nobody for the rest of the students, but every time someone needs her help they go to her.
After Lilly died one night she went to a party where someone raped her and she woke up the next day searching for her underwear. Since that day she changed and became someone new she was no longer the pink, happy girl she used to be, now she was heartless and strong for the rest to see.

Logan Echolls - Jason Dohring
He is the son of the A line actor Aaron Echolls and Lynn Echolls.
He was Lilly's boyfriend at the time of her murder and he was part of the Fab Four with Lilly, Veronica and Duncan. He is Duncan's best friend.
His father who they latter found out that was the Lilly's killer and former lover abused Logan since he was very young.

Wallace Fennel - Percy Daggs III
He moved to Neptune after Veronica stopped being part of the 09ers and he quickly became her BFF. he moved with his mother and younger brother.

Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas - Kyle Gallner
He is the youngest son of Richard Casablancas Senior and step son of Kendall Casablancas. He becomes Mac's boyfriend and we find out that he is Veronica's rapist.
We was molested when he was younger and now he has some problems because of that.

Kendall Casablancas
Kendall is a former Lake Girl and a trophy wife in every sense of the world. She got married to Richard Casablancas Senior - Dick and Cassidy's father so she becames their step mother.
At one point in the show she starts having an affair with Logan Echolls her step son's Dick BFF.
Cassidy hires Keronica to investigate his step mother and Veronica find out that Kendall is helping Dick Senior with a real estate fraud.
Lianne Mars - Corinne Bohrer
She is Veronica's mother.
She was Jake Kane's girlfriend before he married Celeste and she married Keith.
Lianne and Jake were Neptune's High Golden Couple just like her daughter and his son were.
While she was married to Keith she started having an affair with her former boyfriend Jake. Because of the affair Veronica's paternity is at one point in question, but the DNA test that Keith made showed that she was his daughter and not Jake's.
After Lilly Kane is murdered Lianne leaves Neptune. At one point in the first season Veronica find her and she gives all her college money for her mother's rehab.
At the end of the season she cames home but soon leaves with the check Keith received for bringing back Duncan.
